6. What type of gear/equipment should I come prepared with?

Campers should wear athletic socks, cool and comfortable clothing, and preferably basketball sneakers. Running sneakers are not recommended due to the likelihood of ankle injuries. A water bottle labeled with the campers name is also recommended. There will be water coolers in each gym that will be available for refills.

Please also bring flip flops for the pool as well as a bathing suit and towel if camper plans on swimming during the pool time.  Please refer to question #8 for more information regarding pool time.

The camp store will also be opened and available at various times throughout the day. The store consists of water, Powerade, and snacks. Campers must bring extra money in order to make purchases from the store.

7. Will lunch be provided?

No! Lunch is NOT provided, and each camper is responsible for bringing her own. Lunch will take place in the cafeteria on campus, and is available to purchase from Sodexo, the company that is in charge of the cafeteria food, if necessary. While this is a convenient option, just note that the food in the cafeteria can be get expensive.

8. Pool time?!

We allot about 30 minutes of swim time during camp each day. This time usually takes place following lunch. Please be sure to bring a bathing suit, towel, and flip flops if camper plans to take advantage of this opportunity. Each camper will have to pass a simple swim test in order to swim in the pool. Please note that t-shirts and shorts are not allowed in the pool.

9. What if my camper does not want to use pool time?

While not all campers will want to swim after lunch, the gym will be open during this time for those campers who want to work on their games after lunch or just to mingle with other campers.

10. Will any basketball be played outdoors?

Yes.  With the new construction of an outdoor basketball court, this allows for more space for games and drills. Campers are encouraged to bring sunscreen as there is a good chance there will be outdoor games/drills.

What else you should know:

If you have special requests for your camper to be moved to a different team, please wait until after the first day of camp. We understand most young kids want to be with their friends, however, it is not possible to comlpy with all requests, but we will do our best to insure each camper has the best experience they are comfortable with.

There will be a certified athletic trainer on site during camp hours.

The camp store will be open daily selling a variety of refreshments, snacks, as well as shorts and t-shirts.

Parents/guardians should enter the building to pickup your camper at the end each day. Parking on the lower level of the fieldhouse will be available.

While we encourage campers to participate, it is not mandatory. The staff puts in tremedous effort on a daily basis to make the week the best possible experience for every camper.
